How to ungroup objects without also separating the audio?

Hi all, I grouped together some video clips to move them about easily, then I ungrouped them but all the audio became separated into another track automatically as well. I can't find how to ungroup the video objects without this happening. I only want to ungroup them so I can move or edit them again individually. At the moment, I have to manually select the video and separated audio and combine them again one by one which is so tedious. Thanks.

@hendry

Hi

. . . . I grouped together some video clips to move them about easily, then I ungrouped them but all the audio became separated into another track automatically as well . . . .

Testing with MEP 2018 v 17.0.3.184 I can not replicate this and double clicking the Ungroup icon does not create a 'double' ungroup because the objects are deselected after the first click ungroup.

Grouping works in levels so, for example:

  1. Video clips 1,2 and 3 are grouped to create group1
  2. video clips 4,5 and 6 are gropued to create group 2
  3. group 1 and group 2 are grouped to create group 3

Selecting and ungrouping works one level at a time ie. select group 3 and ungroup creates group 2 and 3 which then can be ungrouped separately.

We need more information:

  • Software full name and version number as found under Help, About . . . .

  • The procedure you are using for grouping and ungrouping the video clips

  • A short video screen capture of this occurring would also help.

I deleted all the clips and started fresh and couldn't reproduce the problem again either. Very strange! If I encounter it again, I'll update. I am using MEP version 17.0.3.184 (latest).
