I am having difficulty installing codecs

I have spent countless hours and $50.00 additional to get Main Concept Codecs but can't seem to activated them.  The messages asks if I want to Activate online or Cancel.  I choose activate on line and nothing happens.  I open an internet browser (Explorer or Chrome) and still nothing.  Any suggestions?

Where from?

When you add a video to the timeline and the Main Concept codec is required MEP should ask you to purchase or activate online depending on whether you have the Basic or Plus / Premium versions.

If MEP cannot access the Internet then the activation will fail. 

Check that MEP is not being blocked by your Firewall or Antivrus suite by clicking Help, Update online or Free downloads options.  Either of these should connect to the Magix website and should give an error message if they can not.

I have clicked on the update on line and I get a message "no updates are available"  however, when I click on MainConcept MPEG-2 it say One tim Activation is required.  Do you want to activate online.  When I click on that the message disappears but nothing beyond that happens.

I disabled my anti-virus software and got the same result.

What now?

That would suggest the software cannot contact the activation servers.

View here for alternative activation options, otherwise you will have to contact Magix Support.

      So far everything has failed.  I called support and they sent me a list of settings for internet connetion and a couple other settings.  I made the changes, rebooted, and attempeted the activations againg.  I got the same result.  Absolutely nothing.  No error messages, no internet contact, just nothing.  Tech support in Germany is off today so hopefully they will have something tomorrow that will work. 

       This is very frustrating.
