It would be very useful to know precisely at which point "MEP2014 crashes".

However, my experience of attempting to burn Dual-Layer DVDs from within MEP and/or VPX has led me to adopt quite a different procedure; specifically, I produce a Disc Image(choose the option in the Burn Screen to burn to Image Recorder) and then use the produced folder of files to burn the actual disc in ImgBurn.  Using this method I have very rarely encountered any "failures", especially since ImgBurn has the facility to verify the disc once it is burned.

Thanks Jeff!  I ended doing exactly what you said.  I found that if I render the video to a .mpg file first and then use that file to burn I have had much better success.  I was trying to save a step but this seems to work.  It happen when the video file is over 60 minutes; anything shorter and a direct render and burn works pretty well. Thanks for taking your time to answer this!
