I bought Music Maker Winter Offer - all sounds are non-commercial?

Daniel_P wrote on 1/15/2021, 4:45 PM

I just bought the winter offer and after the purchase, I do not have the option to redeem the bought sound pools as royalty-free? This must be a mistake, right? It was not stated anywhere that the sounds and loops where for non-commercial use only.

Please help me as this is for a school project ment for youtube videos as soundtracks.

@Daniel_P A school project is obviously non-commercial.

I should have mentioned that it is ment to be used on youtube as well. For said project.

@Daniel_P If you don't monetize the video (ads, sponsors, patreon etc.) It's non-commercial.

It is a commercial for my school 😔

Thank you for the replys though.

But I just don't understand why it is not stated that it is non commercial. It seems like a waste. I can't use it for anything.

@Daniel_P  You're a student? It's a school project? Then it's non-commercial.

You can ask sales support at infoservice@magix.net for clarification. It should be no problem.

But it is for "selling" the school. As in, advertisement. I'll try the support link/mail. Thanks again!

@Daniel_P

Hi

. . . .  it is for "selling" the school. As in, advertisement. . . . .

That comes under the classification of Commercial Use (Public Broadcasting) so you need a commercial licence for each Soundpool or part of soundpool used as the loops are Copyright Magix.

If it was for a school project and not for public broadcast then you would not need any commercial licences.

If you are not using the Soundpools, ie using only the Instruments, and are creating an original piece of work ie your own composition, with you playing a MIDI keyboard to drive the Instrument , or using the MIDI Editor, to lay down the notes then you do not need any commercial licences - however you must not use the default notes that the Instrument inserts when double clicked to add it to the timeline.
