I can't get round this bug, PLEASE HELP!!

I've been able to work around the many bugs in Movie Edit Pro, but this one has me stumped, and I can not get rid of it.

It's going to cost me hours of work if I can not undo or get round this bug, because I'm going to have to scrap the whole project and start again. I'll probably buy different software and uninstall Magix edit pro because I can not loose this amount of work again.

What has happened is a normal, standard, text box, that I have used many MANY times, has suddenly begun to move across the screen on it's own.

I have placed many images into a video I have created before, I click on "t", and if the text box does not come up on the screen, (I get random responses to that), I click on the screen, "Title" comes up, I then enter my text and font, and place the text box where I want it.

Normally it stays in place and doesn't move, but this time it's just scrolling off the screen sideways.

I've tried deleting it, and trying again. I've shut down the project, and restarted. I've even switched off my whole PC in desperation, but now, NO MATTER where I click, the text box just slides off the screen.

I haven't done anything to the settings, or done anything different, it looks like a bug in the software has switch on a feature or something, and I just need to find what it is so I can switch it off.

Oh, another bug is I lost all my sound effects from my Titles. Don't know why, they're just gone?

Any help is greatly appreciated. Many thanks for any help.

Like I say, if I can't fix this bug, then Magix Movie Pro will have to go, I just can't work like this anymore. 😞

Hi

. . . . Normally it stays in place and doesn't move, but this time it's just scrolling off the screen sideways. . . . .

Do you mean:

  1. the text moves/scrolls when played in the Preview monitor when played
  2. the Title object actually moves/changes position on the timeline when there is no movement of the mouse and/or touchpad if using a laptop?
  3. the Title object appears to be to be stuck to the mouse pointer?

Depending in the option above try the following:

  1. right click the title object and select Video effects, Reset video effects
  2. reset MEP File, Settings, Reset program settings to default - note this will lose any custom settings you have made to the program eg folder paths etc.
  3. Check the Windows Accessibility settings and your mouse mode if it has a separate control panel.

Many thanks for your reply.

The problem was when I placed the text-box in the preview screen, the text would scroll across the screen in playback.

However I've found the problem. I don't know how this happened, but when I was trying to figure out this problem I noticed a setting had changed, which I didn't adjust myself.

When you click "T", and you are on the Title tab, in the General menu, the text settings box is displayed.

This is where you can change the font, size, colour and use advanced effects.

Just under that is a selection box called Animation. Which had been set to "from right to left"

I didn't set this, nor have I ever even used this setting. In fact I couldn't even quite see it as it was covered up, and I had to use the scroll bar to move down and see it.

I couldn't have even "accidentally" clicked on this, as it requires more than one action to activate. First you must click the drop down arrow, then make a selection.

Anyway, I selected "None" and the text-box is now behaving how it should, no movement.

Just another bug in this software I suppose, but it is extremely frustrating.

Anyway, thanks again for trying to help.
