I have lost edit function after attmepting tpo group video clip with voice over; how do I restore?

I loaded a silent video clip with the intent of adding a voice over segment. I loaded both files and proceeded to "Edit".  I selected group from the file section. After that I lost my edit function. After several attempts imcluding closing and shutting down the computer I still have no edit function, timeline or storyboard function.

I got a well written reply from johnebaker anbd I have tried to follow the directions. f9 did not work. When I tried to reset the default settings by going to File,Settings , Reset program settings to default, I see that under settings I have NO option for restoring default.  I also had no luck with videodeluxe.ini.  That leaves me with the reinstall option.

I have aq video production that is 95% complete.  I am taking time to make sure all completed files are exproted BEFORE  I reinstall, just in case. I have had some quirky things happen with this program such as loading one clearly labeled audio file only to find another audio file was dubbed in.  Still tryig to figure that one out.  My editing has been minimal since I worked to make sure each tutorial segment was complete when we shot it.  Adding titles and voice over in some cases should be fairly simple.  Right now the project is dead in the water.

Any other solutions other than reinstall?

Hi

If you do a re-install, run the Magix Cleaner tool available here before installing again - this will get rid of remnants left behind which actually make a new install useless if not removed.
