antwon,

The problem is IIRC called 'latency'. It takes a finite amount of time for signals to be processed (analog to digital conversion) and stored. How much time will depend on the speed of your computer, what other programs are running, and possibly also quality of your sound card.

I'm no sound expert but I'd suggest you try using Music Maker to record your guitar track into a new project (so the program has less to do) while you listen to the existing arrangement on a different device eg export as .wav or .mp3 and playback on a mobile device through headphones.

Others may have better ideas...

Regards,

Carl

If your guitar or any instrument is coming into the computer via the USB port....this will be very, very hard to get rid of with consumer grade souncards.......your computers soundcard is very busy doing all the processing and such, then to ask it to play everything back in realtime is a lot to ask.  I solved this issue by using an external souncard to process the playback and recording......my Line 6 POD HD 500 has a soundcard and there are no issues what so ever.  I use the Line 6 card for playback and recording and it's perfect..... hope this helps
