I'm looking for an NLE capable of 4k/UHD editing on an 4 core i7-7700k.

I see MAGIX Movie Edit Pro Plus claims to be the first to use Intel GPU AVC/HEVC hardware decoding on the timeline which means it should work with h.264 4k on a Kaby Lake i7 CPU - but I cannot find a video to demonstrate how well it works.

Has anyone here tested it or know where I can see it demonstrated. How many layers of 4k can it playback smoothly with color correction and a few effects? What is the timeline preview quality - HD or UHD/4k??

If it works it will be a revelation for 4k editing software as most require an expensive 8 core GPU plus a powerful graphics card.

I don't understand why MAGIX don't have a video on the Movie Edit Pro home page - or why they haven't posted this video from Intel????

Thanks

Hi,

you can use Magix edit pro to make 4K, in my last video i check both version MEP and Pinnacle Studio 20 and my conclusion both software yield the same result using proxy file. Naturaly keep it simple the montage in head. Probably if you use many tracks plus video effects you overpass your computer. The most important is ssd hard drve to speed up work.
