I'm totally clueless what to do... :-( help please!!

This may seem like a really stupid question, but I don't know what to do.

I recently bought Magix Movie Edit pro 17 plus, on CD. I installed the programm and it seems to work, but I'm stuck in the beginning when the window for the entering of the serial code popps up. I enter my code, and then there is no butten to "approve" the code, I can't press anything within the normal magixprogramm but inside the little window for the code. And the ONLY thing I am able to press in there is the word "close", and if I happen to press that the whole thing closes. (May seem logic... but not because it is my only possibility. Well except for the "enter the serial number" button, but that just refreshes the window) And pressing enter has the same effect. I am probably absolutely blind or stupid or both - but I'm freaking out here. And they don't even have a hotline!

I would be SO thankful for fast answers.

Greetings - Mary

Can you screen capture that?

Unfortunately, once we have activated we cannot see that window anymore. If you can screen capture where you enter your code then maybe we can assist.

If I am not mistaken, the serial code is entered once and you do not need to include the P2 or the dashes. Once you have entered the serial code, you should get some green check mark as I remember.

I think you also need to enter your email address and password that you have registered with MAGIX.

Make sure you are not running any intrusive pop-up blockers or spam/virus software; it too could be causing a communication error to where the program is not able to transmit the information.

There is a screen capture with the code not entered and with it being entered..

There is no such thing as something to enter an email adress or password... and why should there be a pop up blocker? It's not online.. :(

The serial code you should enter should start with a P2 (The P2 does not need to be entered, as it is on the left side of the entry field). The code has 6 groups containing 5 numbers separated by dashes (which do not need to be included).

I unfortunately, cannot read all that you put in the code entry area. It should only be numbers and all you need to do is enter the numbers past the P2-.

Well I covered the code up ;) and yes. it is 6 groups with 5 numbers and everything you said. But nothing happenes.. well one number on the back of my cd thing is kind of scratched, but i can still totally tell its a nine, there is no other way.

You could listen to the insolent advice of the last user... although preposterous, but to each their own.

The issue is that the code you are entering is not correct. There is a red X at the end of the field in which you are entering the serial number, once you have entered the correct serial number that will become a green checkmark and you will have a different option for pressing OK at the bottom of that dialog.

My suggestion to you is to contact customer support.

1-305-722-5810

Or

http://support2.magix.net/customer/en

You will need to login, and then once logged in you can use the LiveChat service they are offering for customer service.

I personally believe that either you are entering the wrong string of characters that make up the serial number or the serial number itself is incorrect. Either way, the customer service of Magix will assist, unlike the last colourful users.
