I would like to know how when saving several video clips to a final movie clip to have the audio from both tracks mixed to hear everything on each track.

I am delivering 30 minute TV shows to a local cable station as a movie file and i produce video clips that have an interview on one channel and music on the other and sometimes only the music is heard on TV which means i have to mix both channels together so both have everything on it. Can you tell me how to do this using Magix Edit Pro 2013 Premium.

Hi, I am a little confused about what your question is.  Do you need to export the file as .mov?  If so, that format is a container format not a true video file.  The package contains audio and video (not a mixed version) as seperate entities within the package.  Most export formats are containers of some type where audio and video signals are handled sepreately.  What spec has the cable station told you to submit your work in?  So if you are submitting it as a .mov file and they need a .avi file, they may not have the codecs to process your work and therefore you could either not see video or not hear audio.  Since most video is exported in some type of container, you need to have the specs that the cable station need in order for your video to play properly with their equipment.  You can't really mix audio and video into one file.  There is software out there that claims to be able to do this, but having looked at it, I can't imagine how they do it without using some form of compression (which brings us back to a container).  Audio and video bitrates and all the associated specs around them are pretty important in terms of submitting material to broacast television.  Key questions for you to ask are "what container format do you need?  What codecs does the material need to have?  and of course, what aspect ratio do you broacast in?

Good Luck,

George

Hi,

Like George, I'm not very clear about your question. Or your experience with MEP. But If I've understood you correctly then you just import the material to your project and after any other editing necessary (titles, effects, transitions, etc) simply export the project in a format of your choice. All audio will be 'mixed' and appear in the finished movie.

Or, is this actually a question about "balancing" the levels of the music and speech, such that the speech is always heard "louder" than the music?

If so, the OP needs to learn how to use the Mixer (shortcut M) on the audio tracks, perhaps in "Automation" mode, in order to "mix" the audio tracks so that the desired outcome is acheived.

Clearly, there is much more to it than that highly simplistic explanation but until the OP comes back and makes clear exactly what he/she is trying to do I think more detail might be superfluous.
