I have been trying to take two videos and make one. Such as putting a video of my daughter to look up at her older self from a child's view. Any ideas? I have the movie edit pro
For a very simple effect MEP has everything you need to easily do the job. Below is a screen shot of a single overlay of one clip (resized and positioned) which displays on top of the other:
Note the 'front' clip is on a lower (higher numbered) track. It was selected and the effects added using some of the options under 'Movement effects' >> 'Size/position'. Probably the next step would be to have a selection of overlays appear at different times and positions along the timeline -- I'd suggest fading them in and out rather than their suddenly appearing. The tools are there for having an overlay move as well using 'key frame animations' etc.
Copy the alpha effects folders in C:\ProgramData\MAGIX\Movie Edit Pro 2014 Plus\VideoEffects\EffectAlphaMasks
to Documents\Magix projects and give it a name that you will remember. You will want to use masks from the HD folder.
Place a base image on track 1 and the picture that you want inset (Picture in picture) to track 3.
Click on the picture on track 3, go to Effects, Movement effects, Size/position and reduce the size and place it where you want on the image.
Import a mask like I have in the images below and place it on track 2. Effects, Movement effects, Size/position and change the size and place it where you want on the image. Make sure this mask is selected then go to Effects, Video effects, Chroma key and click on Alpha. What is on track 3 will be seen wherever there is white in the mask. Track 2 will be seen in the black part. Move the mask over the face like I did and resize it so that the circle covers what you want.
Done.
I have included a video of mine that includes a title, fades, and a second method using Pixelan SpiceMaster Pro to spice up the title and its fade in effect, and to have the girl's face start on the woman's eye, then enlarge and move.
