Import h265 files from iPhone

magix_dr wrote on 9/24/2025, 4:20 AM

Hi,

I have MEP2022 and am trying to import h265 files from my iPhone. At first, the programme asked me to purchase and activate the [HEVC Codec Upgrade (H265 Intel)] codec.
So I purchased and activated this codec. Unfortunately, when I try to import any of the files, MEP2022 crashes.
File from iPhone - 1920x1080, 30 frames per second

@magix_dr

That's odd. All the recent versions have handled HEVC/H265 from iphones OK for me.

Could you host one of your files on a hosting such as Google Drive (enable sharing), Dropbox or similar? Then we can check out the exact file. The Magix forum recodes the video to suit the forum so it's not representative of the original file.

@magix_dr

Thanks, that imports OK here. I'd restart your PC: do a proper "Restart" as opposed to a shutdown.

If that doesn't work, try resetting Movie Studio to defaults: File>Settings> Program. In there will be a Reset to Default option (not sure of the exact steps as it's been changed in Video Deluxe 2026).

Uffff,

I think I've managed to solve the problem. I had to restart the computer. Now everything is working and importing is possible.
