Imported MP3 Audio file into MMM 2013 not working

mrscottb5 wrote on 2/17/2013, 8:26 PM

Hello, the primary issue I am having is that there is no audio output from my speakers for when I attempt to add an MP3 to my MMM 2013 software. I have made an attempt importing music through the file manager and through the import tab from the file->import headbar. Neither seem to work.

I am able to add the MP3 file to the soundboard/editing screen but it does not play when added there after pressing the play button.

*My sound is turned on/unmuted. Sound can be heard from various other programs such as itunes and my speakers are turned up/are plugged in.

*Presumably the problem pertains to a missed step or conversion that needs to be made based from what I have read in the help forum. If you know how to get audio files taken from your itunes library into your 2013 magix music maker please help. Here is the exact process I have been attempting to do through the file manager shown below.

When I utilize these series of steps:

1. Go to File Manager
-click on an MP3 to load audio from my media/my projects to magix music maker 2013 (on my windows 7 XPS 8500 PC)

2. See tempo and beat recognition
-check box stating "carry out remix agent for large files"

3. Click "ok" and go to the "Spot bars and beats detection" box
-Get a prompt to place a start marker

When I place the start marker and press the play button to check the beat, no audio is heard. If I press continue to the point of obtaining the MP3 bars on my soundboard the program will not play the file added. This is very strange to me as when I play the audio through my itunes, the song plays fine.

I have attempted to import the music through various methods and when I do get the file onto the audio editing panel to manipulate/adjust. The audio does not play there either. I am curious what I need to do in order to find a good solution.

The ultimate goal is to be able to mix audio files together and create remixes with my own lyrics and vocals; along with making my own tracks combining various artists (like most of us) but need to be able to manipulate the original sound files to do so first.

Any help would be graciously accepted.

Thank you.

I read your question again and again and it is strange that you can listen your Mp3 file but not in MMM 2013.

My Music Maker is an older version 16 Premium, I checked Mp3 file and found no problem.

Please do as follows for TESTING:

Drag and drop your Mp3 file on Track 1 then Export it in Mp3 format if it is possible. (May be Mp3 need activation). If you successfully exported in Mp3 format please try to play. If it works it means Mp3 coding format was different.

Or use Magix Music Editor: All Programs/Magix/Magix Music Editor

When it is opened File/Import Audio then play, if it plays your Mp3 then it means your Mp3 file is fine, if not then file format coding is different in some way.

Note: Did you also play your Mp3 file using Windows player or Real Player other than Itunes?

Additional: for quality audio use WMA format, FLAC, VBR, OGG or Vorbis. People also use Mp3 format as it is more common.

Hi

Were the mp3's downloaded using iTunes?

If so that is the problem - you need to export the mp3 out of iTunes - if you can. Then  try importing the exported file into MMM.
