In Movie Edit Pro 2013, the playback marker disappears and does not show the playback position during playback. It is there when first starting the program and works briefly.

In  a fresh and clean installation of Movie Edit Pro 2015 I am losing the playback marker. I have used Magix for versions 14, 15, + 17. I have never seen this problem before. When I play a new video the playback marker moves on the first couple of uses. Then disappears. Only the origin or the final resting point will show. I have tried adjusting the settings for the arranger - Autoscroll - Mute, Slow, Fast. I have tried the option of Spacebar. I am an experienced user.  Playback is fine, I just can't see the marker line move as I am watching which is problematic. In addition I have the timer showing in the preview window but it also does not display the time during playback once the marker has disappeared.

The problem seems to occurs after I have accessed a menu item. The playback marker will only return after restarting the program

Hi

Try resetting the program to its default settings - File, Settings, Reset program . . . .

That should fix it - note you will lose any customisation you have done.

It was a clean install originally but I thought I'd try anyway. Unfortunately that did not work. So I uninstalled the whole program (with revo) and reinstalled it (US version) with all defaults left. Same problem straight away. Marker moves initially. Click on something in the menubar e.g. mixer, go back to playback and the marker no longer scrolls and the timer no longer updates while playing.

The reset doesn't help much. Still run into the issue again.
