In the Arranger window, objects flicker and disappear

In the Arranger window, I've imported several videos (actually just WAV files). I've done this dozens of times in the past with no problems. This time, however, every one of the objects flickers and disappears. It's still there, but to make it reappear, I have to click on it again and it only stays as long as I have it selected. This makes editing slow and tedious, like looking for objects in the dark. This is in Movie Edit Pro MX Plus.

Additionally, I like to look at the sound part of the object to see where the speaking is taking place and target long pauses and silence to be edited out, but for some reason, all the sound objects as flat lines.

First, please read this post and give us all the information requested there.

I'm a little confused by even the limited amount of information you supply. You say you're importing videos, but they're actually .wav files?? So, since .wav is an audio-only format, are these videos files or only audio?

As to the problem of the flickering and disappearing objects, without knowing for certain anything about your computer I'm going to speculate that your OS is Windows 10, presumably updated? If so, and given that MEP MX Plus is now a very old version of the software, I suspect you may well have met some incompatibility between the OS and the software.

However, I could be completely wrong in my suspicion. 😃😃 We will have rather more idea only when you supply that additional information.

Thanks for the reply and sorry if the information was a little sparse and confusing.

The last time I used the program was about four months ago, and it worked okay then. When I started experiencing the issue last night, I checked for updates and applied the latest one, but the problem persisted. As you also pointed out, the version I was using is pretty old, so I purchased an upgrade and installed it. Using the upgraded version, I haven't seen the issue repeat itself.
