Downloaded and installed current version of Movie Edit Pro on Windows 11. Installation failed with a message about not being able to install VC++ runtime. I have administrator privileges.
I can't tell if my list of VC++ runtimes matches yours, because the screen shot you provided does not show the full file names. But I think that misses the point of my question.
Movie Edit failed at installation time when it tried to install the VC++ runtimes. I looked through the installation logs and found where Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 x64 Minimum Runtime and Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 x64 Additional Runtime installed successfully. I found the point of failure in the installation log 000#Bootstrap.txt:
Installation of Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2019 Redistributable (x64) - 14.27.29112
Cause: Exit code: 1638

$2021-12-04 15:10:24.607|6d78:08d0|INFO|batchinst|Non-vital sub installation has failed.
The list of installed VC++ files in Apps&Features includes Visual C++ 2015-2019 Redistributable (x64), the one that caused the installation failure. I don't know what that means -- I can think of several possibilities.
So what is my next step? How do I get Movie Edit to install properly?
If you user account on the computer is a standard Administrator account - this is a restricted account and does not have some of the rights of a full administrator.
It is possible that your Antivirus program is blocking the install, particularly if it is Windows Defender. Try temporarily disabling your Antivirus program for the installation.
