I have to admit to being confused yet again. I thought the faulty update was pulled over a week ago. How come some people are still being offered it?

My MEP 20.0.1.73 states no updates available.

Hi Andy.

The latest release is 20.0.1.80 - I've just checked on my machine. I think the faulty one was 20.0.1.79, IIRC. The 80 release was the "correction" to 79.

So, assuming your Update Service is still current, you should certainly be able to update.

Hi Andy.

This bit of the problem has been caused by a Windows update and not a MEP or VPX one and only effected those people who did not have Microsoft Visual C++ 2015, 2017, 2019 Redistributable already installed on their systems.

Is this another problem caused by Brexit I wonder?

Do you need the C++ update before MEP or VPX can offer the update?

I don't know the answer to that as I was one of those never affected by the first update problems as I have always had the C++ updates on my machine.

The update for both MEP and VPX12 went smoothly overwriting the pulled .79 update which I also did not have an issue with.

I do not know if Magix products update on a cycle basis like Windows - I suspect is does not.

It would do no harm to install the Visual C++ Redistibutable, at least you can rule that out as a culprit of no update.

I doubt it - I did not receive a HMRC import duty or VAT due notice when I updated with the pulled 79 update - I got it just before it was pulled - or the 80 update few days ago. 😃

Thanks for your replies. I've installed the latest versions of Visual C++ but still no update. I'll wait for another couple of days and if still no update I'll drop Magix a line.

My Update Service expires end of September 2021 so that shouldn't be the problem. John seems to have disproved the Brexit theory so I wonder if it's because I don't have an Intel GPU, only a humble GeForce. Not that I'm paranoid you must understand 😱.

I think a lot of updates from whatever source are rolled out to different areas or subscribers over a period to prevent server overloads.
