Installing online-purchased Movie Edit Pro 14 Plus on different machines?

an_eddie wrote on 11/16/2013, 7:00 PM

I would like to install this software on my office machine because it is several magnitudes more powerful than my home computer. However, I would also like the option to install the software on my home machine (just in case i am forced to be separated from my office machine).

Is it possible for me to do this, or is this software locked to whatever machine it is first registered to?

Thanks.

an eddie,

I've had no problem (either in operation of program or compiant from Magix Legal) having MEP installed on two machines. My reason is that I do internet, eg this forum, on one machine and it's handy to have MEP loaded to provide screen shots if answering a question. I do my real editing on another offline machine. Some EULAs are specific about multiples as long as both are not being used at the same time -- must admit I've not read the MEP one in detail.

Note MEP 14 is getting pretty old; I'd suggest an upgrade. Now that 2014 is out I've seen some good buys for 2013 which some users here say is a bit faster when rendering. Definitly go for at least the 'Plus' as you have done before. 'Premium' give you some extra programs.

Regards,

Carl

Hi

@Carl - it think an_eddie means MEP 2014.

@en_eddie - if you have purchased MEP 2014 then please refer to it as MEP 2014 - there are still a few (hopefully very few) usersusing MEP 14 (released early 2008) which is old and very different from the current version - this will avoid confusion.

Thanks

John

Honestly i thought MEP 14 was the same thing as MEP 2014.

I had no idea. I suppose it makes sense because many years ago i bought MEP 10, 11, and 12.

They seemed to have grown progressively slower and more unstable, which was highly disappointing.

Yesterday i just installed MEP 12 on the incredibly powerful machine i was talking about. I think this will be more than sufficient as i have no good reason to pay $70 for the same piece of software.
