dropm,

Two things if it's not to late:

1. (probably too late :-( ) MEP uses the standard windows convention of [Ctrl+Z] for undo.

2. Unless you have turned off the option (under 'Program settings' >> 'System'), MEP creates regular backup copies of your projects. They get names ending in 'MV_'. For more information search for 'backup' in the help files or in the pdf manual which comes with your program. You can simply rename then the the usual .MVP or use 'File' >> 'Load backup' which has the advantage of automatically finding where they were stored.

Comment: You say "Pinnacle is much better..." which may well be true for you simply because you are are used to its work flow. I've not tried Pinnacle but did use several other editing programs before deciding (as I got use to it) that MEP was better!

Regards,

Carl

Hi,

What a agressive way to address a user community who receives no compensation from Magix.  None of us here work for the company, we are just users like you helping other users.  I own a copy of Pinnacle Studio 17 Ultimate among a number of others and I have been doing this professionally for many years, and I can tell you from experience that the workflow is terrible compared to MEP.  Once you get used to the MEP workflow, I hope you will be able to see how much more efficent and effective it is.  The only reason I even bought Pinnacla was because the Ultimate version had some features that I wanted, so I use it to create the scenes I want with those features, then export and move it to MEP for final edit.  I also have Corel Video Studio Pro X6 which I use for mostly titles and screen capture, I use Power Director 12 ultimat for faster rendering of some clips and some of the effects included in the "Ultimate" version.  Invariably they all go back to MEP for the workflow.  None of the other apps have such a flexible work space as MEP.  I also have some of the Adobe products installed and they are so unstable that I never use them for anything any more.

If after using MEP, you still think that pinnacle is better, the go back to that product, and stop complaining about the best consumer video editing product on the market (from a personal point of view).  There is no perfect consumer video editor on the market today that has a reasonable price, a logical and flexible work flow, etc.

If you want the best, go out and buy Avid, buy the hardware that will run it and you may or may not be happy.  An alternative is to go and buy a Mac and run FCP and the associated hardware.  There is always something better, but what price do you want to pay?  Tell me that your budget is $10,000 and I can tell you what to buy and where to buy it.  I personally don't have that budget, so I will stick with MEP, create amazing videos and never look back until I can afford something better.

Thanks for your helpful answer. My post was not agressive, only expression of disappointment after demolition of long work. It was my first attempt with MEP.

Thanks for your answer.

Carl is far kinder than me. Given your tone and the obvious carelesness displayed in your post, plus your obvious failure to make the simple effort of typing 'backup' or 'restore' into either Help or the PDF manual, I didn't bother answering.
