Is it possible to add "bonus material" to DVD in ME Pro 2013 Premium?

Evening all! I'm creating a DVD for a friend (music video, basically), and I want to add some "bonus material", as one might find on any DVD movie.

The DVD will consist of the main feature (music video: a song with edited clips from movies), and I would like to add the following:

- audio commentary that can be played over the main feature

- "Making of" video (me speaking to camera)

- Other "interview"-style extra features

Obviously I would like these to be accessible from the DVD main menu or sub-menu.

Any ideas? I have just randomly clicked on a button and found myself adding another movie to my movie in the editing suite (see photo; titles renamed for the purpose of this post).

This seems to allow me to add bonus material that is not part of the main feature (although creating the DVD menus to go with it is quite an art!)

But I'm still trying to figure out the "audio commentary" thing...

Thanks in advance!

(FYI I am running Windows 7-64 on a self-built Intel Core i5 quad-core system, 16GB RAM, etc.)

Hi

You can do this by creating a multi movie disc - see this tutorial here. You add the number of movies required eg main movie, extras movie etc. For the audio commentary you add an additional timeline, add the clips you want to comment on and record the commentary using MEP.

MEP will take care of the menu automatically, do be aware that, depending on your starting disc menu, you may need to limit the number of items on each page eg if you use a menu that incorporates animated video clips from the movies, 6 items per page is about the limit for viewability.

If MEP cannot do the type of menu you require, and you are doing this often, then have a look at DVD Architect, also by Magix, this gives you total control of your disc menu creation.

Hi John,

Thank you very much for replying to me on this topic. I do apologise for not responding sooner - the past few weeks have been a bit manic, and I wasn't sure if the project would go ahead due to lack of time for me to work on it.

However, I've just managed to complete the main video, and I hope I'll have time to add the "bonus features" as well.

I'll follow up all that you've said - that all seems very useful.

Thank you!
