Yes, it is possible and depends on which Operating system you got XP, Vista Windows 7/8. Some time windows 7 give little trouble.

Are you talking about the Soundpool included in the M M MX or Soundpool DVD?

In both cases it is possible. You have to be careful if you want to move your Music Maker Soundpool to hard drive. Keep the folder name as it is.  Example in my case as I use MMM 16 Premium (older version though) music maker soundpools are in a Folder name Basic_16 which is set as default folder.

In your case check the default folder of Music Maker and copy/move whatever method you like on the external hard drive. After that open music maker and use add style button browse locate the folder on external hard drive and add.

NOTE: next time when you will start your Music Maker your external hard drive must be ON, otherwise, you will see a message File Path not find  on the Music Maker screen.

I am having an issue pointing Magix Music Maker to the new location!!! I moved all the soundpools to the external drive, but when I try to point Magix Music Maker to the new location, it ALWAYS causes Magix Music Maker MX to freeze!!!

Try to follow exactly mentioned below:

I am assuming you have already copied soundpool on the external hard drive ok?

Try one more thing, clear internet browser cookies, history etc after that open music maker on the key board press "P" it will open Program settings try to Clean up Soundpool or
Reset Soundpool which ever you think ok (refer Pdf help page 219 for Prgram settings).  Now use Add style button and see if you still get that freezing problem or not.

During the above process better not to run other soft/e-mail/messenger etc.

Do you got Box version or download version of MM MX?

I wish you should have also mentioned about your Hard drive/RAM(memory) how much GB? and if you know your processor? Is it 2 Ghz or 3 or more?

Some time when we use software not only hard drive space but the RAM(memory) and processor also play a vital role. Do you know the specification of those?
