in Music Maker, I selected the folder in which my VST plugins are located and after it finished loading it only shows all other plugins except Guitar Rig.
According to Wikipedia, Guitar Rig is an EFFECTS PROCESSOR, so assuming it is properly installed, you will probably not find it in the synth section. You need to look in the effects slots in the mixer.
If it is not there, it either has not been properly installed, or is not compatible with MMM. MMM is NOT a full-fledged DAW, so some VST applications may be too sophisticated for MMM to run them.
You CAN run Guitar Rig as a stand-alone application.

I know I can run it as a stand-alone. What do you mean by effects slot in the mixer? Sorry I'm new to Music Maker.
Open the Mixer....as you can see in the photo, below the FX and REC buttons for each track, there are two drop-down menus - these are the "effects slots".
As you can see, there are three categories of effects to choose from. I am showing the VST effects that I currently have loaded. That is likely where you would find Guitar Rig, if at all.
Actually it's quite logical - the plugins that are effects changing real sound input are distinguished from the ones that use MIDI. I just haven't stumbled upon this setting.
