Issue to exporting videos to 4K

Sandor-Szabo wrote on 10/26/2021, 6:59 PM

Some reason I cannot export MPEG-4 videos on higher resolution (example: 3840x2160 29.97fps or 4096x2160 29.97fps) only make 1920x1080 29.97. So I'm able to make it FullHD but if I adjust the resolution (nothing else) to UltraHD than the program doesn't export to file perfectly, some of footage missing of exported file. I tried multiple solution, reinstall the editing software, changed the HDD, but nothing helped.

My computer is:

Dell G7

Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-9750H CPU @ 2.60GHz   2.59 GHz 8.00 GB RAM 64-bit

Intel(R) UHD Graphics 630

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660Ti

MAGIX Movie Edit Pro Premium Version 21.0.1.92 (UDP3)

this is a 1080 FullHD video, looks okay:

this is a 3840x2160 UHD 29.97fps total bitrate 53829kbps audio bitrate 195kbps:

last 1/3 of footage missing, I don't know what cause this issue, I had never been any problem with the previous version

Hi

Can you analyse one of the drone source video clips with MediaInfo and post the results - see this short tutorial on setting up MediaInfo and analysing a video clip.

Are you getting any error messages on exporting to 4K UHD

Best regards

Hi.

I have found that if I use the Intel HD for GPU acceleration in any of MEPs GPU settings boxes that will sometimes trip out a project on exporting.

Use nvidia, nvidia, nvidia. but don't change the settings with a project open. Open the program. Set the GPU settings without an old project open and then close the program. Then open the program and see if the changes have kept. Then open your problem project and try exporting.

I am using very similar DJI 4K files mainly from the Osmo Pocket. The only other thing I can think of is I have way more ram than you do.

These are my current personal settings for exporting to YouTube in 4K.

Obviously the frame rate and GOP settings are different.

The other thing I noticed in your video is that nearly all, if not all of your clips have been slowed down.

Hello CubeAce,

Thank you for your info, I tried to change my setting to same as yours, but unfortunately nothing help, able to export any of my footage to HD resolution but UHD doesn't work, sometimes the export just stop middle of the process or pictures missing on the final file same as my 4K sample.

I'm using this software 5 years and this problem just came up at the last update.

Regarding your note: "The other thing I noticed in your video is that nearly all, if not all of your clips have been slowed down." - thanks, honestly this is how I edited this video file, I slowed some of down, I know this isn't a good idea because I recorded 4K 30fps and the image is stutter.

This issue frustrating me, that is reason why I tried few different option to find the way to solve the issue.

I'm still working on it to investigate....

Best regards

Hi.

The reason I mentioned you using the speed controller effect is that some of the the clips are also very short in one section as if you were trying to make some sort of effect and if you haven't slowed down every clip to exactly the same frame rate the complete file at that point is behaving like a variable frame rate file and with the GOP structures not lining up at very small amounts of frames I'm wondering if that is causing the tripping up of the program. Normally I don't think this would be an issue but with so many so close together I'm not so sure. Personally I would check each short clip to see it was slowed to same frame rate as it's neighbours.

Sometimes when an effect is complex and the machine is struggling I will export a short section as a file and then replace that section with the file I created for final export in the project. If you can't even export the short section in question you at least then know the cause and can start to try to rectify it.

Ray.

Hello CubeAce,

Thank you so much for your response and help to solve this strange issue.

I went through everything, all on my settings and I just upgrade my computer to Win11, seems like the problem solved, finally able to export video to 4K again.

so probably I think here was a bug....

Thanks again

Hi

. . . . just upgrade my computer to Win11, seems like the problem solved . . . .

Upgrading to Windows 11 solving the issue would suggest there was an issue with the previous Windows 10 installation, possibly mismatched DLL files from an update.
