Just getting the thing to work?

I have just purchased, loaded the Movie Edit Pro 2021 Premium. Clicked everything, loaded everything it said. Closed it all down restarted the PC. Restarted the programme and it won't let me import anything as it keeps asking for the activation code, serial number or order number. I thought I had already put all that in when loading the programme. However I put it all in again when asked and it tells me it is wrong!!!!!

I have just spent a good 2 hours going round in circles with this. Not impressed so far.......................

Hi Duncan and welcome to the user to user forums.

Some antivirus programs and Windows defender will block Movie Edit Pro from communicating over the net that it has been activated and registered. Just add the program folders to the 'Exclude a folder from scan' sections of both.

Thanks Ray. I did eventually end up in the Magix store and paid more to get a codec activation code…..that seems to have cleared it.

Ah! You are importing HEVC encoded files.

That should only be needed for exporting to HEVC. Not needed for mp4. Importing HEVC relies on the Windows HEVC (H265) codec.

Be aware that if you uninstall Movie Edit Pro and re-install the program you will need a new activation coed for the HEVC codec. That has to be generated by Magix staff and cannot be done with the auto generate new code function which will just generate a code of 0 that does not work.
