Key Frames Not Available

nahatan-salade wrote on 2/21/2022, 7:19 AM

I've recently upgraded from Movie Edit Pro Plus 2015 to Movie Edit Pro Premium 2022. I never had this issue on the old version but only had it on the new version, making me think that I may just be missing something.

But when I'm editing a still image in a film, and I'm trying to use key frames to make it move from one position to the next (which I was able to do easily with the old version) the button to add a new key frame is always greyed out. Furthermore, with the other video options, such as rotation and camera zoom, it ISN'T greyed out, and I can key frame as normal. So I'm confused as to why I can't do this for 'Size/Position/Rotation.

I have tried updating my software and restarting the program but the problem continues to persist. I may just be misunderstanding something as it is a new software, but I don't see what I'm doing wrong.

Hi, and welcome to the user to user forums.

If you can't set the first key frame in Size/ Position /Rotation, try using one of the rotation controls slightly and then set it back to zero. That can kick-start the key frame editor into life.

Hi

To avoid unexpected behavioural issues with keyframes being added, ensure you have the option shown below selected.

Without selecting this the keyframes added are independent of each other and you may not get all the necessary keyframes set to maintain a particular position/rotation if you change an option that was not selected for a prior keyframe. The first 4 sets of keyframes in the image below were selected individually the group being turned off (not blue), the 5th set is with the option selected - all options KF's are added.

Hi all

Sorry for taking so long to respond to your advice, here's a screenshot of the issue I'm having:

I really don't know what I'm missing, so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

To start, click on the row with "Size/Position/Rotation" in the keyframe area. Then you should be able to add keyframes. In your image, Anti-flicker is selected.
