My equipment. Behringer 1204 usb as external interface. Magix mx premium. Notebook laptop running vista updated. Basically my latency issues are non existance untill I lower the tempo of the drum track. When I try to record live after I have done this I am some times a half a second out. The great part is if I dont change tempo of drums the live recording is right on. Any ideas?

Questions:

WHEN are you "lowering the tempo" of the drum track?  When you do this, is the drum track the only track in the arrangement?  HOW are you "lowering the tempo" of the drumtrack?

Your title says you're changing the tempo "of the LOOP".  Your question says you're lowering the tempo "of the drum TRACK".  Which is it?

Hi

I think the latency is being introduced because the processor is busy changing the tempo of the drum track at the same time as you are trying to record.

Try exporting the drum track at the new tempo as eg mp3, mute the drum track and load the mp3 into the project then record live again.

When all is done the remove the mp3 and un-mute the better quality drum track.

John - That was my hypothesis as well, however I did not want to commit to it without some actual evidence to back it up.  Your conclusion is the same as mine, except that I would recommend a wav file instead of an mp3.
