Hi,

I hope that you got at least Plus or you may quickly run into limitations.

Other than the number of tracks and the colour scheme, the programs are basically the same.

You may want to watch my tutorials on basic editing in MEP.

Thank you! It's the Pro version, don't know about Plus...

@PLynn-Brown

It's the Pro version, don't know about Plus...

The full program name is Movie Edit Pro, which exists in three variants: Basic, Plus and Premium, in ascending order of price and, most importantly, facilities.

If you're not sure about or have never heard of "Plus" etc., I fear you may have bought the Basic version which, as John CB wrote, is rather limited and limiting.

@PLynn-Brown

The 3 variants of Movie Edit Pro are clearly shown on the Magix.com website, along with a comparison table.

How did you buy MEP if not through the Magix website?

Presently, the Plus version is on sale for the same price as the basic version. Ask Magix for a refund or to change it to Plus.

Hi

. . . . I ordered Movie Edit Pro . . . .

If you ordered direct from Magix here (best way) then your invoice you received in an email with the serial number will tell you which version you have.

If you have installed the program then there a 3 places where you can see the full version name of the program:

  1. The splash screen on start up
  2. The top bar of the program interface
  3. Help, About - also gives the current version number which is helpful.

The learning curve coming from Photostory depends on how advanced you got with Photostory.

There is a lot of commonality with functions, templates, transitions etc however some may be in a different location.

I would advise you to read the PDF manual available under under Help and watch the tutorials on getting started by John CB ( @browj2 ) part 1 and part 2
