Locking Frames together and adding audio.

rstorrow wrote on 6/26/2014, 7:02 AM

I am an actor working on my actors demo reel. I just paid someone really good money to make me a reel and he did a terriable job. It was a waste of my money, so now I'm trying to learn how to do it myself.

But because I take various clips of video and audio from TV shows and movies I have been in, it requires a lot of editing to take out my two minutes of fame, and assemble it in my actors demo reel.

So I guess I will be posting a lot of questions. and I really do appreciate all your help.

Heres my next questions:

1, I have assembled about 7 photos which overlap and fade into each other nicely. Is there a way I can lock the 7 together so that I can move them all togeter to tighten up the timeline?

2. I thought I saw on a youtube tutoral video that there was a button somewhere that automatically tightens up the timeline, bringing all clips together?

3. I want to put an audio track to these 7 photos/frames. Is there a way to do it that would apply to all? or do I need to click on each one individually to create an audio track?

4. The clips I am referring to is from a tv show (Burn Notice), is there a way to record the shows intro. theme song and import it to my time line? What would be the best way to do that?

I have included a snapshot of my screen if it helps. Thanks again very much.

Well that didnt work, took a snapshot of my screen using Jing, clicked copy image, but it did not paste to this message.?   How are you guys adding photos to your relpy messages?

rstorrow,

1. Select them all and hit the little linked chain icon to 'group' them

2. Unfamiliar with this if it exists.

3. In MEP anything can be on any track. You need only lay in your audio on any empty track, probably the one directly under your images so that its easier to line them up.

4. If the show is being broadcast you could presumably just aim a video camera at your TV screen. If it's a popular show, chances are that someone has already done that and put the clip up on you tube!

For adding images, click on the little photo icon (just to the right of the smiley above) and follow the prompts to choose a file from your computer, send it to the Magix server, and then finish by clicking 'OK' when you see the link appear.

Regards,

Carl

Hi,

To close all the gaps, apply Cut (no fade) to the first transition and then repeat with Apply to all objects

Or for better quality: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/4019461/MEP-ClosingGaps.jpg

Hi

Your answer editing bar should look like this

The red arrow shows the icon for inserting an image.

To add to terry's comment if you want the same crossfade for each transition after doing Terry's instruction

. . . To close all the gaps, apply Cut (no fade) to the first transition and then repeat with Apply to all objects . . .

Set the first transition to Crossfade and then right click the transitions button on the second clip and select Apply to all objects
