Long winded way to copy Title between videos

wongck wrote on 8/1/2018, 9:41 AM

I have 2 separate video. I would like to have the same title (position, fonts & colours) on the 2 separate video. It seems like the copy clipboard is clear when I load the 2nd video in, so a simple copy of the title from video 1 to video 2 is not possible.

Is the only way to copy the title ( or may some other things) between videos is to add the video (you want to copy from) and after the copy, remove the added video? Seems like a long winded way of copying objects between videos.

What is the short cut way?

@wongck

Hi,

The best way is to simply save the title as a template and then load it into the next project. Select your title. In the Title dialogue, click on the down arrow at the upper right and save the title. Open a new project, insert a title, click on the arrow and load the saved title. The new text will remain, but everything else will change, colour, location, size, etc.

Let us know how you make out.

Hey John thanks for replying.

That worked partially. My title was from one of the title templates, so it has some effects. I also have to save the effects and apply it. Took me a couple of minutes to realise that.

It seems complex just to do the same with a simple copy, but tittle template & saved effects worked. 👍

Hi,

Glad you got it sorted out. Yes, you have to save effects too in some cases. The test template that I made with the text at a location other than the default, loaded with the text at the new location, as did one that flew in from the top. I also have a template with Pixelan RiseShine applied to it. I noticed that this effect is saved with the text template. So, I guess it depends on what the effects are, unless this is a particularity of VPX and not MEP. The next problem is remembering that you have these and how to use them. I suggest that you keep track in OneNote or something. I should take my own advice.

May be, VPX is a better product.
