i live in canada, across the pond so to say...i hope that does not get lost in translation.

but does anyone else have problems trying to get in touch with magix by email and by phone to get them to answer questions?

it seems like i am beating my head against a wall and they do not offer much support to their customers.

i do not understand what a ticket number is or having to purchase a service voucher just to get in touch with them...when i have already paid good money to purchase their product magix music maker 2014 legally.

any emails they do return, there is a tone in the email that they just don't care about their customers. many years ago i purchased magix music maker 7 and got lots of support, but it is like they are a different company now and seem to be bothered by questions i ask.

i also had a mini stroke a few years  ago which makes even the easiest tasks difficult, and the company has told me flat out that i do not have the ability to work their software. which was a real insult. if you have seen the tv show "lost" a character on the show named john locke has said numorous times "don't tell me what i can't do".

i was wondering if anyone else feels the same way or has had similar experiences.

Das war eine wahre Beleidigung. Wenn Sie gesehen haben die tv-Sendung "verloren" ein Zeichen auf der Show mit dem Namen "John Locke gesagt hat einer Menge Lokalen: Griechen mal "don't tell me what i can't do".

Ich habe mich gefragt, ob jemand anders den gleichen Standpunkt vertritt oder hat ähnliche Erfahrungen gemacht.

Hi Scott

I think what you are experiencing with the answers you have received from Magix are due to a cultural difference.   Being married to a lovely German lady I can speak from personal experience when I say, the German people as a whole are very direct and forthright in what they say.  This can take some getting used to

This can be interpreted as arrogance and a certain sense of superiority - it is neither - it is there culture  Unlike we Brits on this side of the pond , we tend to go all round the houses at times to say what we really mean and this leads to all sorts of misinterpretations

The German people as a whole are very friendly and have a sense of humour very much like the Brits.

As to the problem with getting responses from Magix, generally they are pretty good, sometimes you have to wait a while.

Hi Scott,

When you create a message to Magix on the Magix site, it is called a ticket and Magix sends you a message with a ticket number. When they send a reply, the ticket number will be in the subject. If you reply, leave the ticket number in the subject so that they know which ticket you are referring to.

Magix support is good for 1 year from date of purchase, after which you have to pay for support.

I have had good response from them. But then I try to make my questions as complete as possible, with screen shots or a video to show the problem. If you don't do this, then they have to guess at what your problem is. We have the same problem here with people who ask questions but don't provide information to allow anyone to be able to help, then they wonder why we ask for it. We cannot see your screen and we don't know what you did, unless you show and tell.

That said, why don't you post your questions here and someone will try to help? There is already a lot of information available on this forum, under Q&A and under Discussions.
