@Tracy-Kleynhans

Welcome to the Magix user to user forums.

Sorry, there is no telephone number you can be given because telephone support is not offered by Magix.

Exactly which version and variant of MEP did you previously have? When you say the software is all gone, do you literally mean that the program no longer is present in either C:\Program Files\Magix\... or C:\Program Files (x86)\Magix\... (depending on whether you have an old 32 bit or a newer 64 bit version)?

If the program is still shown in one of those folder locations but will not run then I would suggest the following procedure:

  1. Download and install the free Revo Uninstaller.
  2. Run it and have it remove everything connected with MEP. If you have any other Magix program installed check carefully everything it shows in its Advanced Mode as being some component of the program. (You can deselect anything listed that you believe is actually part of a different Magix program.)
  3. Reboot your computer.
  4. Go your Magix account, find the entry for your MEP. Download the installer and note your serial key. You might also wish to deactivate there any existing installation of the software listed in your account.
  5. Install the software, enter the serial key and activate it. Then download any additional components which you are offered.

If the program no longer appears in either of the folder locations I listed above I would still suggest using the same procedure. This will ensure than any Registry items or currently orphaned folders, which could easily prevent reinstallation if they are not removed, will not cause problems for you.

Thank you for your time taken to respond. I purchased it in 2015, I think it was the 32bit version. However my PC crashed, I purchased a new laptop and tried to find it to load onto the new laptop but, I have absalutely nothing to be able to load it back on, how do I find the version i had? My credentials back then had also changed so even if I manage to download the one I had, I also cant remember my account details to log in. Accept for the name that was used and email address which no longer exists.

Hi

. . . . Hard to explain when not talking to an individual. Hope I made sense . . . .

It does - you have a new computer and want to re-install the software - @emmrecs point 4 gives you where to find and download your software and retrieve your serial numbers for re-installing.

If the old computer had a hard drive crash/failure then it is likely that any projects, documents etc are not recoverable unless they were on a second drive or external USB drive, hopefully you have backups that you can use.

Your locally friendly computer repairer may be be able to have a look at the disc for you.

Thank you every so much John,

Unfortunately it was not retrievable and all lost. In point 4 about reinstalling Jeff quoted to go into my account, however I cant because the account was created on the email address and credentials from 2015 that no longer exists so I cant even access my old account to be able to start from scratch again.

Is there anyway around that perhaps?

@Tracy-Kleynhans

Thanks for the additional information.

You can access your account by using the old credentials. The fact your email address has changed is not going to prevent you accessing your account!

However, once you have logged in, and downloaded your software (via the My products page), also go to the User Data page and change your registered email address to whatever you now want it to be.
