Magix Edit Pro 2015 Crashing on saving a project

Fergal1 wrote on 4/8/2015, 4:26 PM

Hi All,

I'm a long time user of Magix.

I like the software but I've found every version unstable in some way.

Error messages never really explained what was wrong.

I'm now on Magix Edit Pro 2015.

It's suddenly crashing every time I save.

It's completely nuts. Even if the project has little in it , it crashes.

Anyone else experienced this?

I'm on Windows 8.1 with a very powerful machine, i7 , 16GB ram good graphics card etc.

Kind Regards

Fergal

Yup... I have had instability issues with several versions.

The crashing on exit does exist (MEP Pro 2015). However I have never lost data. If you look in the windows running services you will probably see that the video service for MEP is still running. Kill that if you get the " a version is already running" when you relaunch.

The latest update did make it settle down but it still happens from time to time.

I found that adjusting some of the user settings would cause the failure. If you reset those to default, I believe it doesn't happen. I have a three monitor setup and I'm sure that complicates things.

I contacted support on this issue but it's still happening.

For reference, WIN & Pro, 64bit, 32G memory, 3G Nvida card, i7 4790K

I might add also, the latest update did resolve a few problems with scene cut frame errors, the most annoying.

I'm not seeing any other issues and I've rendered 24 track productions over 1 hour.

So, nice job Magix, let's fix this one now.
