Magix Movie Edit Pro 17 Activation & MPEG-2 Problems

Hello!

I recently had to have my Dell sent back after it recently crashed (Laptop, Windows 7). I've been working on a DVD Movie Project in Magix as a Christmas gift and I (luckily) had a copy of the files on a flash drive. I went to another computer in the household (Desktop, Windows Vista) and installed my copy of Movie Edit Pro 17. Intallation went fine, and the serial number was accepted. When I try to register, a box appears telling me that "This serial number has already been registered to another email address. Please contact Magix Support. Error Code -24"

I think to myself that I might have registered with my other e-mail, but that e-mail doesn't work either. When I go into my Magix Online account, I first click on the "Create an Activation Code" Button. I go through the steps and put in the correct serial number (I made sure it was the one on my cd envelope and the same as the one I used at the end of the installation). I got the following message:

Product has not been registered yet

No registration could be located for this serial number.
Please register your product first and then try to activate it. [Go to product registration]

When I click the link of "Go to product registration", I fill in that information and go through putting all of the correct information into those forms. When I then attempt to register the product I get the following message:

Serial number already used

The serial number you entered has already been used. You may have already registered. Registering again is not necessary. If you have any questions, please contact out technical support team: http://support.magix.net

I tried this and got the exact same results with both accounts and emails. I am puzzled as to what is going on, why these messages are conflicting, and why thyis is turing into such a confuzing and difficult situation. I will also send a copy of this story to a Magix Support Email.

Thanks.

Hey there bmktrains,

you're right in contacting the Magix customer support directly, as we are users ourselves and cannot see any kind of registration data. Be sure to include your serial number in your query as well, they will probably need it.

My guess is you either have yet another email adress you don't remember or there's a typo in the one you are currently trying (either now or the first time you inserted it).

Cheers,

Huesi

I had the same problem. I fixed it.  Here is what I did. Since I was already registered, I was able to just get the code. I followed your steps up until we were both stuck. then I improvised.

There are 3 choices: online, fax, or MAGIX Service Center. I chose the 3rd option.

You should see a number (1-786-601-9600). Also letters A, B, C, D, E with numbers after each letter. (for example A:76987)

When I called, the machine told me what to do and I followed the instructions. Basically, enter the numbers when it tells you and the operator will tell you the number.

I really hope this helps.
