Magix Movie Maker 2016 Pro Plus keeps crashing when serial number and email are entered..

When i load Magix Movie Maker 2016 Pro Plus, it asks me for my serial number then it asks for my email, once I have entered that information in , it gives me the option to Activate and Register to continue the step by step process. AS soon as I click that, the loading sign comes up with a rotating wheel and after 3 seconds the loading wheel freezes and crashes.. I have tried this probably 25 times and it keeps happening, each time i have to 'end task' in the task manager.. I dont know what to do. I bought this software and it doesnt even work.. I tried downloading the CD version and the Online version and the same thing keeps happening... Can anyone please help ?

First thing to check: is your firewall allowing MEP to contact the MAGIX server?  Which firewall do you use?  You may need to tell the firewall to specifically allow MEP to contact the registration server.

Also: are you certain you are copying the supplied serial number accurately?  Make sure you distinguish between O (letter "O") and 0 (zero).  The best method is to copy and paste the number if it was supplied by email.

Has the program ever run properly?  Presumably not.  Could the original installation be faulty?

Which version of Windows are you running?  Is it fully up-to-date?

Sorry to ask all these questions but this sort of problem can be very hard to diagnose via posts on a forum!

So ive done everything i removed the firewall tried it again , its still freezing, Im getting an error module saying "wininet.dll" ??

also there isnt any zeros or 'O' in the serial number..

and im using windows 10, when I run the trial version it  loads and works perfectly

https://www.google.co.uk/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=wininet.dll is the first page of a Google search on that error you listed.  It appears to be potentially quite serious since the concensus seems to be that this a core Windows file error.  I recommend you read through at least some of the articles listed; there are a number of suggested "solutions" but I have no way of knowing which are suitable for your computer.  Do you have a computer "expert" you could talk to face to face who might be able to advise you?  I did read one post that suggested a reinstall of Windows might help to solve the problem!  Is your Windows 10 an upgrade (from Win 7 or 8) or is it a clean install?  If it is an upgrade, I wonder whether some part of that upgrade did not work as it should.

Is MEP the only program on your computer affected by this?

You say "when I run the trial version it loads and works perfectly"; so I assume you are trying to convert the Trial to the Full, using the MAGIX supplied serial number?

Sorry not to be more direclty helpful but this is one of those sorts of problems that really needs someone with knowledge and expertise who can physically look at and check things on your computer, I think.

I have exactly the same issue as deleday - MEPro 2015 has been working fine for ages on my PC and suddenly today I could not open it - I tried everything I could think of - finally I uninstalled and reinstalled using suggestions on these forums. Now, when trying to register it hangs then crashes. Any help or thoughts appreciated.

Try running MEP in Administration mode when registering the software. The registration will ask for elevated privileges anyway, so it may be worth using these from the start, as you do not mention the request for privileges appear in the process.
To start with elevated privileges/administrator mode, right-click on the program and choose the shieldmarked option Run as administrator.
