@stephen-kelly6215 You can try running Windows software on Linux via Wine, Proton or via a virtual machine like Winboat. It could work, but maybe it won't.

Well i decided to try out zorin 18 standard edition.

And used wine to do it.

I then installed 2024 magic music maker for just giggles.

It also had the studio 15 and izotope, installed along with it.

To only the default wine directory's, in the zorin software file manager.

eg:

/home/ozzmosis/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/MAGIX,

/home/ozzmosis/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/iZotope,

/home/ozzmosis/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/SOUND FORGE.

After that running there exe files, in wine as a default.

Thinking its not going to run, i then double clicked on the magix music maker exe.

It loaded right up, and then asked for my email and password.

Music Maker then proceeded to auto load everything i have purchased.

And even up dated the magic music maker to the 2025 version and its plug in's.

As perusal I had to put in the email and pass a few times during the updating but it now all runs.

But it all runs.

Hardware i use is.

1> zoom uac232 on the 32 bit float.

2> Microphones.

Blue microphones x3: baby bottle xl, spark xl, yeti x via usb c.

Behringer b2 pro.

Balanced xlr all the way through, also using low noise xlr balanced y splitters to connect all the mics down to one input on the zoom uac232.

And then for the other input a xlr unbalanced to a ultra di d12, for the guitar connector.

Using a usb c connected to a independant power surply plug.

Then a usb c connection to the computer.

An interesting experiment.

There is one issue you may have, and testing will show, is latency, the Windows fix would be direct ASIO access to the sound card/device.

AFAIK, no 'Linux' distribution supports ASIO natively, this includes Zorin. Wine requires the WineAsio driver installing, if not already present.
