@cresswell Hi, you can use the button at the bottom of the preview, click on that button to highlight it & then drag the end of your video on the timeline. Or click on the video on the timeline to highlight it yellow & use the Speed fx in the Effects tab.

Hi Kev

In addition to @Gid comment, if you are wanting to preview the video on the timeline at higher/slower speeds then there are several options:

  1. Use the Jog/Shuttle control below the preview monitor, you may need to turn this on in the hamburger menu, yellow arrow, the jog/shuttle control appears bottom right of the preview monitor, green arrow.

  2. Use the keyboard shortcuts J, K and L, each press of the J or L key will increase the reverse or forward playback speed, K stops playback.

Hi there thanks for replying to my post,well I have found what you were taking about and I have managed to speed up and slow down while I am editing the video,but I really wanted to slow down or speed up the final edit then save it and download it in its slowed down or speeded up state,is this possible ? Thanks again Kev

@cresswell

Hi

. . . . I really wanted to slow down or speed up the final edit then save it and download it in its slowed down or speeded up state,is this possible . . . .

In this case use the Speed effect as @Gid's commented above.

Note the speed factor range limits, when the audio is attached to the video, is 0.25 (1/4) to 4x.

For lower or higher speeds you need to ungroup the audio, and delete it if not required, and type the factor value in the small text box, the range is 0.01 to 999.99

Added: when slowing down video ensure the Interpolate intermediate images option is on (checked).

If you want to apply the same Speed factor to the rest of the clips, right click the adjusted clip and select Video effects, Copy video effects and check the effect required.

Then select the rest of the video clips, right click one of them and select Video effects, and use one of the options Paste video effects or Apply video effects to all ... or Apply video effects to all of the following.
