Magix Xtreme Print Studio in Movie Edit Pro

MEP2018 Plus/Premium and VPX

Where oh where in these programs is the command to open Xtreme Print Studio to create CD/DVD jewel case inserts?

I've just been through the manual and the programs looking for this. I even looked in Speed Burn'r. No luck.

In Music Maker, it is right there in the File menu. I think that it used to be in MEP, but I can't find it.

The program, an old version of Xara, comes with MEP and VPX and can be found in the folder:

C:\Program Files\MAGIX\Movie Edit Pro Plus\2018\coverlabel

as cdprinter.exe

Double-click on it to see.

The Xara templates are under:

C:\Program Files\MAGIX\Movie Edit Pro Plus\2018\coverlabel\Filters\ENG\PrintCenterFilter\Templates

and under

C:\Program Files\MAGIX\Movie Edit Pro Plus\2018\coverlabel\Templates\ENG

and these can be opened with cdprinter

Other than double-clicking on cdprinter, is there a way to access this from within MEP/VPX?

Thanks,

John CB

Greetings,

Open the "Burn Interface" page (top right hand corner, centre button). At the bottom right of that screen is a tiny blue button that looks like a printer.

Hi Andy,

Brilliant! That was very hard to find, especially since I rarely burn DVD's. When I do make labels, I open the .xar file with Xara Designer Pro X instead of Xtreme CDprinter. Shortcut C when on the Burn page.

"Label" was a term that I didn't use when searching the Help file. The help is right there.

Thank you,

Hi

IMO it would be a great if the feature was more flexible ie capable of creating all the necessary images for case, insert and disc and also be able to print direct to disc.

Currently my work flow is a 3 step process - create the necessary images in PSP, print direct on disc using Epson PrintCD and use Nero Cover Designer for the insert and case cover.

@johnebaker

I open the templates in Xara Designer Pro X and do everything there. No need for PSP unless I want the original photo treated using Perfectly Clear (it doesn't work as a plugin for Xara for some reason). I played around with the templates to get them the way I wanted and then just reused the last one.

In the following image, dragging a photo onto the lower left CD image overlays it and clips it to the inner and outer circles

Here is an example of a jewel case put together completely in Xara DPX:

Once I had a DVD design that I wanted, I would export it to a jpeg and import it into Click'n Design and finish it there. I can't find the program. It was there a year ago, gone now. I can't find the installation CD that came with the CD Stomper either. Most puzzling.

Hi

. . . . Once I had a DVD design that I wanted, I would export it to a jpeg and import it into Click'n Design and finish it there. I can't find the program. It was there a year ago, gone now. . . . .

I suspect this occurred the same time as a major Windows 10 upgrade which appears to 'delete' some programs that are not compatible - see this article.

After much searching, I gave up and downloaded a more recent version called Click'n Design 3D; the old one is no longer available. It looks exactly the same and my .cd2 files work. Now, which pack of labels comes unstuck?
