Making a book trailer for my new book

First question is; I have an older version Movie Edit Pro 17 Plus. Will this work on Windows 10.

I am prepared to upgrade, is there an upgrade I can purchase to get the latest version, or do I just buy at sale prices I am being sent.

I haven't worked with Magix f for several years and wondered if can you layer 2 pictures onto the same frame.

Lastly. I am trying to make a book trailer for my new book and don't see anything to make your own music on the latest 2021 premium version. Does this mean you have to purchase both movie maker and music maker separately.

You need to upgrade to a Windows 10 compatible version of Movie Edit Pro.

Movie Edit Pro 17 does not work on Windows 10 and even if you get it installed, which is unlikely, you may have many issues using it - mine stopped working altogether when I upgraded to Windows 10.

Yes - there are several Picture in Picture effects and several other ways of doing this depending how you want them displayed.

There is a Soundtrack Maker wizard in MEP, however this is for non commercial use only.

Similarly if you use Music Maker (MMM), the Soundpool content delivered with the program is also for non commercial use only - you will need commercial licences for every Soundpool used. See the licensing terms here on Producer Planet

To avoid this you would have to compose an original work and, using the MIDI Instruments that come with MMM, play or 'write' the notes in the MIDI Editor.

Note that Music Maker is free. There is only 1 version. Plus and Premium Editions simply unlock features, presets, some instruments and give you credits to use for getting more instruments and Soundpools.

You can install MMM and play with it.

For MEP, download and install the trial version for Plus or Premium, not basic, and try it out to make sure that is works on your system. Note the comparison chart on the Magix.com site. If and when you purchase, simply select Upgrade, not new, for either Plus or Premium.

To add to John EB's comments.

As well as needing to run Windows 10 do make sure before you try to upgrade the program that your computer system meets all the minimum requirements set out in the minimum specs section for Movie Edit Pro 2021 or preferably exceed them or you may find the trying to use the program more than disappointing.
