Making a commercial film with MEP 14/MX Plus

amirkaufmann wrote on 11/19/2013, 6:21 PM

I am about to complete 2 commercial films in 2014, and wanted to verify again that there are no legal limitations.

I would like to emphasize that I DO NOT use:

1. Any image or video material from Magix (except to one specific exception to which I have written permision from Magix ).

2. Any sound material - except the ones specifically allowed to comercial usage. (BTW, also this I have personally re-verified it, with written clarification from Magix).

So my question refers to the actual usage of the 14 Plus S/W and MX Plus S/W for making the film.

For this basic usage I have found no limitation - but thought to raise it here.

Many thanks for any insight.

Have you read the EULA -- end user license agreement? Check the 55kb (for MEP 2014) 'license.txt' file that should be distributed in the folder with your program.

Hi

The relevant points are section 3 last sentence then read sections 1 and 6.

There is an on-line version of the license file here

Thank you very much, John, for your insight - by pointing out the last sentence in P.3 - which I knew, but missed such exact text.

I was very careful not to use any picture/video/audio from all Magix video softwares (11/14/MX), and when had specific doubts about 15sec video and a few sound items - asked and recieved legal permision (or clarification that it was OK).

Now I am relaxed fully.

Many thanks.
