Memory allocation error message problem, is there a fix?

"A memory allocation request failed. maybe there is no memory available or an internal error has occurred"

I'm getting the above error message and I see this problem has been around for several years (23 similar questions)

I'm using MEP17 on Windows 7, 64bit with 6GB of RAM - and no, removing some RAM is not an option!  The Win7 Resource Meter shows this is not a memory problem.  I have just spent several days editing a short (under four minute) 720p movie and it won't render.  Very annoying!

Hi

What is the free space on your HDD and is Windows page file set to auto adjust?

Have you patch MEP17 to the latest version (10.0.11.0 UC1)?

John

Hi John

The relevant partition has 50GB free, all others are larger.

Page file is set to auto.

MEP17 is version 10.0.0.1 (c2) - if I try an online update, it tells me "No new program version found. Your version is current."  Maybe the version number you gave is for XP?

Thanks

I'm still getting this same error message pop up seemingly whenever it feels like it; and other crashes.  I keep sending the error reports that MEP offers the next time I launch the app; I wonder if they get looked at?

No other app on my PC is so badly behaved, in fact I don't recall any app being so bad.  Very disappointing.

I think I had this problem, too.  Go into program settings and under playback, find the section that says "size of memory cache."  Click "no cache."

See if that helps.
