Hi,

In MEP 2014 when this happens to me on my 4 GB  PC running XP it's usually because of the reason suggested, namely lack of memory. So I save the project and close any other major apps running. To help, I open Task Manager and under Processes sort by Mem usage. I then re-open MEP and if necessary accept the offer it makes to automatically restore the crashed project, taking care to heed its warning ro re-save that under a new name as a further precaution.

To minimise future re-occurrence, occasionally use Edit > Empty undo and cache memory.

Terry

Thanks for the suggestion, however I managed to find a patch for movie edit pro on the website and now it's working perfectly for now
