The   drive I am  trying to  install  is an  internal  drive.  I  am  using the  Downloaded  version of MEP 2013. it  would  only install  on the Programs folder (x86) .

Then I suspect something is wrong with the installer!  I had a similar occurrence with a completely different program, nothing to do with MAGIX; in that case the author had simply forgotten to put some code into the installer routine and he was quickly able to "correct" the problem.

Just one thought occurs to me, however.  On the drive where you are trying to install MEP is there a "Program Files (x86)" folder?  With my system with apps on D:\ I deliberately created such a folder and both MEP MX Premium and various versions of VPX are all installed without problem.

If that is not the solution I think, given that this is a brand new product, you should raise a Support ticket with MAGIX.

Program files (x86) suggest you are running on  64bit machine. Might the problem be Windows 7 related -- it's know for somtimes being security over conscious. What's your OS Jeff? Your profile only lists the CPU etc.

I am  using  windows 8 Premium  (64 bit OEM),  I  tried creating  a  Program  Files (x86) folder by  copying  it  from  my C:  drive  to   fool it  into  thinking  it  was   loading   it  into the  same  file. I changed  the  type  of  disk  that   my   hard  was (MBR to  GPT to Dynamic), I  finally  just  gave up  and  switched   to  my larger HD (128 gb SSD) that   that  my  operating  system is  on . May  be the   combination of   Win8 and  MEP  not  playing  well  together

I'm running Win 7 Pro 32 bit.  My mention of (x86) was simply a suggestion for the OP since, as is now clear, he is running 64 bit.

I  opened  a  ticket with  customer ser vice - probabbly  should have  gone to   tech  support . I will  post  what they  find  that   way  anyone   can  solve the  problem. Please   continue  to  post  ideas  on   what  I  should  try .

I  am trying to install  MEP 2013 on  a seperate  dirve  drive  but  when I telll  it  to   choose that   drive   it  tell me to  choose  another  drive   but it   will  install  on  my C (local )  drive. I want to  install  it on  another   drive  to  save  space  (64 gb that  I  only  wanted  operating  system  on) How can  I  make  it  load on  a different drive?

Separate as in "external" or separate as in "network"?  I have almost all my programs installed on D:\, with OS and a very few core programs on C:\.  But my D:\ drive is an internal drive, actually 1 of 3.

I think if you are attempting to install on an external drive or a network drive that such installation may fail because your computer and/or MEP "thinks" there is a danger that commuunication with such a drive may fail, through being unplugged, moved oir whatever.   All the foregoing is pure speculation on my part!

Has this issue been resolved somewhere? I have purchased several Magix products. Yesterday, I downloaded and installed Samplitude for evaluation. When I tried to download and install the extras, I ran out of space on the C:, the SSD. The install program allowed me to specify by D: drive to decompress the files when the C: drive had insufficient space. Later, the install presented a dialog with the C: drived listed and selected. It said the selected drive had insufficient space and to select a different drive. However, my other drive was not listed. I could find no way to select it. So now I have my SSD full (I don't want it full) and with tons of free space on my other SATA drive and not way to use it. I would like to uninstall Samplitude and re-install it and its extras to my D: drive. Please advise.
