joserobles1941 wrote on 5/20/2017, 9:44 PM

Windows 8.1 Intel i5, graphics card HD 4600, 16gb ram. When trying to use 3D Titles a message comes up saying it can not be read and also another message immediately after saying "the file format C program data Magix MovieEdit pro 2015 Premium titles Xara animated rotating 3D gold X3D can not be read. Make sure drive is not full ( it is not) or write protected; if you do not have the authorization to read or write from this path...

This has happened unexpectedly since it was working fine before. Please help me find a solution

Thanks

Hi Jose

Try "resetting your program settings to defaults" in the "File >Settings" Menu.

Hi Ss,

I already did that and also uninstalled the program and installed it back again, but the problem persists.

I also sent an email to Magix Support and they have advised to unsinstall the program and apply this program, SIS Check, i think it is called, and install the program again.

I will do that and see what happens, but I am skeptical because in the past, with a different problem, it did not help. Guess it is worth mentioning that my integrated Graphics Card 4460 could be the cause. It has not been able to open New Blue Titler X because of compatibility problems with that program and Intel´s

I think Magix support would expect that you have MEP installed before you run their Syscheck utility. Syscheck is designed to run a wide range of tests to see whether there is anything on your computer which might cause MEP to not run properly. Without MEP being present I doubt that it will be able to really check your computer.

Hi

. . . . uninstalled the program and installed it back again . . . .

That is not enough to fix some of the problems with the MEP installation unless you clean up the files left behind. These files are created on the first run of the program and the un-installer knows nothing about them so cannot remove them.

Use this tutorial to reinstall the program, this was originally written for the Windows 10 upgrade however it also applies to Windows 7 and 8 with a minor modification.

To run Syscheck for Windows 7 and 8.1 is slightly different:

Step 4: Press and hold down the Windows key and press the R key.

Step 5: Type CMD in the Run dialog box and press Enter

Hi Jeff,

First of all thanks again for your interest. I did reinstall the program and then I ran sischeck as told in the instructions given by Magix Support. Thereafter I sent the result to Magix and am waiting for their reply, though as I stated I am skeptical from previous issues that were not resolved.

Thank John EB.

I had those instructions for Windows 10 printed even though I have Windows 8.1. I assume that steps 4, 5 you mention are the ones applied to 8.1. From what I see it is going to take quite a while to go through the whole procedure but I will carefully do it.

Thanks a lot for your valuable contribution

Hi Jose

I actually had the exact same problem with the X3d titles many versions of MEP ago but I can not find what I did to fix it. I think I tried the Program reset to defaults but subsequently tried deleting one of the Videodeluxe.ini files which fixed it. Sorry but I am not sure where or what that file was but it was quite a simple fix. If you clean out all traces of the installation as John has suggested it will probably achieve the same thing.

Hi John,

I followed step by step the tutorial but did not work. Now I really don´t know what to do, it is so frustrating !!!

Sc, would you please tell me where to find those ini files. I remember seeing them once but can not remember where.

My only hope now is to wait for Magix Support reply after running the sischeck

Hi Jose

Doing the file clean up after uninstalling should have removed those files anyway, so I don't think that will help.

Have you tried Right clicking the Program .exe and selecting "Run as administrator".

Also I found this old post:- https://www.magix.info/us/forum/3d-title-effects-problem--339112/ which also mention security software software.

If you search the forum for "Xara 3D Titles" you will find several discussions about the problem but unfortunately not many solutions.

Hi Ss,

I just tried running it as administrator also turn off the security software, still the same problem.

I am thinking it might just be something related to my integrated graphics card, Intel HD4600, and would appreciate if someone could give his opinion.

Thanks for all the help

. . . . I am thinking it might just be something related to my integrated graphics card, Intel HD4600, and would appreciate if someone could give his opinion. . . . .

I am also running an i5 with HD4600 and not having any problems with the 3D titles.

My Intel HD 4600 drivers, as found in the Intel HD Graphics Control Panel, are as follows:

  • Version 20.19.15.4531
  • Shader version 5.0
  • OpenGL version 4.3
  • OpenCL version 1.2
  • DirectX Runtime version 12.0 - see note below
  • Hardware supported version 11.1

Run the DirectX diagnostic tool DXDiag and on the Display tab(s) you should see the following settings:

  • DirectDraw acceleration: enabled
  • Direct 3D acceleration: enabled
  • AGP texture Acceleration: enabled

Note: your DirectX version should be version 11.

The comments in the linked post are about turning off security software and running in safe mode during the re-install phase, in case the Security software is blocking the installation.

I doubt it is graphics hardware or software issue.

Hi,

I did turn off the security software during re installation.

As to what John EB said, I have just completed running DXdiag and all three are enabled.

The two differences I found in my graphics card are version 10.18.14.4414 and runtime version 11.2.

What else can I say ( or do)?

Thanks to both of you,

J.Robles

Hi

Your drivers are the Microsoft provided ones for Windows 8.1. and are the correct version however, I have had issues, though not the same ones as you are having, with the Microsoft provided drivers and reverted to the latest Intel drivers until Microsoft updated the divers and fixed the problem. The DirectX runtime is also correct.

Try downloading the Intel Drivers Utility and see if it finds a genuine driver for the HD4600 the latest one is version 15.40.34.4624.

The Microsoft version 10.18.14.4414 driver would suggest they are older - the last 4 digits should be the same as the Intel provided ones.

. . . . Magix Support and they have advised to unsinstall the program and apply this program, SIS Check, . . . .

Was this a Magix diagnostic program, you had to download, to check the installation and send back the results?

If so and the issue is not the drivers, then I think we will have to wait for Magix support to get back to you on this one.

Hi John,

I just installed Intel drivers, latest version last four digits start with 45... something. Tried opening Titles, movement , no luck.

Yes, Sischeck is a diagnostic program, downloaded it and sent back the results. Still waiting for an answer. Guess it is my last and only hope.

All these days all I have been thinking is about this problems and wondered if when I ran the Windows diagnostic program , CMD, there was this message saying that some files had been damaged and had not been fixed, could the cause be in those files? Also if I could reinstall Windows 8.1 from scratch, after uninstalling it, could that fix the problem?

Thanks a lot once more for all the input.

Did you run the sfc /scannow at least twice, as stated in the tutorial I linked to, and preferably 3 times in total if you are getting an error message..

If there are files that cannot be repaired, the system file checking program should list them, make a note of the filenames and location and come back with the information.

Hi John,

Yes I did, twice.

As to the faulty files, I tried to access them in C Windows Blog, CBS, CBS but when I got to this last one, there was this message Access denied. A tech friend of mine told me it is because I have to use an external disc ; I could not do it while the program is running. He is coming over next week to help me out because I don´t know how to do this.

Tomorrow I am going to run the sfc /scannow three times and see what happens.

One thing I failed to mention is that I have the SpiceMaster Pro installed and did not uninstall it when I ran the tutorial.

Finally, Magix Support replied stating 1) the graphics card drive was outdated (I had already updated it per your suggestion) , 2) my sound card driver was also outdated so I updated it with good results (better sound), and 3) there were some inconsistent files - they listed them- which could cause issues when burning cds,or dvds and gave me a patch to fix it and I did it.

So here I am still hoping to find a solution,

I hope I am not taking too much of your time, so please accept my apologies,

J. Robles

Hi,

I was finally able to screen capture the messages that come up right after I try to use Titles, Movement (second file ). They are in Spanish because I am located in Lima, Peru. The one below reads Magix 3D Maker stopped working due to a problem.

Incredibly as it may seem, they were in front of my eyes and did not realize that the problem was not only specified but coded !!! The only justification for my oversight is that I am 76 years old and all this stuff is new to me. So, please, bear with me.

In case this really is the cause of the problem, I would appreciate if someone could give me the solution,

Thank you

Hi

You need to open the CBS.log file in Notepad and follow the instructions here to search for the damaged file names or error(s) - they may or may not be relevant however it is better to know which files are damaged.

The Magix error message indicates that there is an error with Xara 3D Maker 7 - do you have the Xara 3D Maker 7 stand alone program installed ?

If so it may be this that is causing the issue and may need repairing or re-installing.
