MEP getting worse

Previously I used to consider MEP as a stable software. After purchasing MEP 2014 plus, frequent crashes occur. They have not developed the program, they have only been able to make it more unstable and more difficult to use. Previously, when I editied a project, I could save the edited project and continue next time, there was no problem. Now they have somehow totally obscured the terms project vs. movie. When I open a project previously edited a couple of times, I get a list of "movies" that are included, and the project, or movie, whatever it is, opens with a name I never can foresee, and some of my previous edits have gone. So, I have to start again looking for a better software, I am totally disappointed with MAGIX.

Vesku,

A couple of comments:

First have you applied the latest patch(es) -- 'Help' >> 'Online update,.,,'? You should be up to version 13.0.0.4

I'd say the latest version has made the distinction between movie and project much clearer and easier to use. A project, which is saved with a .mvp extension, can contain one or more movies which can be burnt to a DVD and available from a top level menu. Movies of course can have chapters divisions as well. Each movie is independently edited and which one you are working on is clear from the tab structure above the timeline:

You only get multiple movies in a project by your choice, either by adding a blank movies using the '+' icon the arrow is pointing to above, or by opening a project (which can have one or more movies in it) and selecting the option to 'Add new project' -- which it states actually adds the movies contained in that project. You cn only have one 'project' open at a time unless you have two instances of MEP running simultaneously.

The names you can't foresee are generally the current date -- the names MEP assign to movies until you give it of your own choosing.

I hope this explains a bit and might tempt you to stick with MEP a bit longer.

Regards,

Carl
