MEP Premium 2022 and NewBlue Stabiliser

Former user wrote on 10/5/2021, 3:58 PM

Hi folks

Please can someone who has MEP Premium 2022 and Newblue Stabiliser 180730 confirm whether or not this shows up in the MEP 2022 effects list.

Newblue Stabiliser shows up in “NewBlue App Manager” as activated and current (serial number is displayed)

On mine it does not show up. I have tried a reset settings in MEP.... no go.

I have contacted Magix and Newblue support. (I just hope they don't blame each other - leaving me in the middle)

Note: I also tried it with VPX11 as well.... no go.

Hi.

I don't think you read the complete specs pages for use with the program.

4GB of vram using a recent nvidia graphics card for HD content? Doesn't even mention 4K compatibility.

It says 4G is "Recommended". The "required" is mentioned for 1g. (I have 2G, Open GL 4.6).

It should still show up - even if I have to be careful about my project specs....

@Former user

I often find when seeing 'Recommended' it means cross your fingers if you don't have it. Especially as it linked specifically to HD content if that is the resolution you are working at. Couple that to MEP 2022 increasingly being developed to work with 4K footage and upwards it is easy to run out of resources.

Every generational update in software is developed to run on on newer and newer equipment.

If people can't keep up with the technology and few people can, they have to also start thinking about not upgrading software as well. At least until they afford to get newer components that easily exceed minimum requirements.

Unfortunately the same cannot be said of Windows 10 updates or graphics driver updates. They roll out regardless but ignore them at our peril. It is difficult to know if one of those can have an impact on a given software.

I did find this article on the DaVinci Resolve site that looks like a similar problem to your own.

Maybe you should contact New Blue Effects if you can't resolve your problem.

I have contacted NewBlue - they seem to think it's a Magix issue.

I also have Stylizers 5 Illuminate and these do show up and are usable.

This has exactly the same system requirement as Stabiliser.

Did you read down the whole post and try renaming the folder in the second suggestion accordingly?

If that did not work you are going to need help from Magix.

Yep, tried that (Rename the "NewBlueFX" folder to "NewBlue"). Didn't work.

I have already opened (and received replies from) Magic support

CubeAce wrote on 10/6/2021, 3:21 AM

@Former user

Are you going to share the Magix reply for others to see or at least report on whether they offered a solution or not? Did the free trial version work OK first?

I'm just wondering why when a stabilizer plugin was offered free as part of an upgrade bundle, Magix chose the ProDAD one.

There is no solution at this time.

The last email I sent them, I asked them to test MEP Premium 2022 and NewBlueFX Stabiliser on their end so they can at least verify whether or not MEP sees Stabiliser for them. Iif it doesn’t, they can see what's going on (or not going on).

One other thing I've done is as follows:

I notice that NewBlueFX Stabiliser appears to be part of NewBlueFX Essentials 5 Ultimate.

So, what I did was installed the trial of Essentials 5 Vol 3. After doing the scan, and restarting MEP Premium, MEP did indeed see the extra plugins (albeit with the watermark).

Maybe NewlueFX’s installer for Stabiliser is a bit borked.

Currently, the ball is in Magix's court. I am kind of hoping Magix has a batphone to NewBlueFX to get this sorted.

Former user wrote on 10/6/2021, 3:45 PM

@CubeAce

I got a reply from Magix Support.

They installled the trial of Stabiliser and they also could not get Stabiliser to show up on MEP 2022 either.

They are going to address this problem at their next developer meeting so they can get contact with Newblue

@Former user

Greetings, would this happen to be NewBlueStabilizer-180730 as offered in an email by NewBlue as a complimentary plugin in early June this year?

If so then you are probably aware that it didn't work in MEP 2021. I emailed NewBlue and received a very pleasant and apologetic reply almost immediately saying:

"I sincerely apologize, Stabilizer is not compatible with Magix Movie Edit Pro. If you have another editing program on your computer such as Adobe Premiere or Vegas you should be able to use it there.

Once again I do apologize for the inconvenience Andrew"

One of the first things I did when I installed MEP 2022 was to try this plugin again, but to no avail.

I'm not holding any breath that this particular version of the plugin will be able to be used in MEP 2022.
