MEP2015 Main concepts codec not showing up in 64bit version after activating.

bandjsellars wrote on 6/25/2015, 8:01 PM

On Magix Movie Edit Pro 17plus I could output my mpeg4 1920x1880 25fps as progressive to match up my cameras but this current version MEP2015  has missed out the progressive out put and only gives upper or lower fields. very disappointing.

I activated the Main Concepts codec to see if that would restore the missing option but cant find the codec to use it, I am wondering if it's not compatible with 64bit and I should install the 32 bit program.

My system is Windows 7  64bit, and the computer is a Intel Core2 duo E8400  2x3.00GHz

MEP 2015 basic or Plus? It is probably not with the basic version.

In Plu/s/Premium, it's under Help,Additional programs or something like that.

Of course MEP 2015 is able to produce progressive video files, with both codecs, standard and Main Concept. So what are you talking about?

Hi, I am using the trial version of MEP pro 2015 Plus, and I do not have that setting in the image John EB has posted below, nor do I have a Help aditional programs or something like that as John CB mentions, just wondering if these features / options are excluded from the trials and are actually in the version when I buy.

Regards to all, johnp

For both Bryan and John P:

When you purchase MEP2015 Plus or Premium on-line, there is more to download. Here are the screens from MEP2015Premium, 64 bit version:

1. Help menu showing Help, Help pdf, Free download - MainConcept

2. Free download screen

3. F1 - Help manual

4. PDF Help manual front page

Let me know if you have trouble seeing one of these and I will send a link to the original file on Dropbox.

Not as easy as the 17Plus version were it was in the drop down list as an option, and the only way I have got it to work is to make my own preset.

Hi John,

It's the Main Concepts MPEG4 codec I bought and down loaded with the activation key but up to now no luck, the Magix help asked me to send in the activation key and they will check it. so at the moment I am doing a work around that seems to be OK but finding the 64bit program very slow in comparison to the old 32 bit, my computer is short on ram and will only take 4GB so unless I upgrade I will have to lump it I guess.

Regards Bryan

I still don't know what you're talking about. My MEP2015 offers me MPEG4 Presets in Full HD and 25p.

That could be it John, I have the cd and it says on the disc  Movie Edit Pro (with only 32 tracks not that I need them) maybe it's only the plus version that has the progressive options, still it should have opened the Main Concepts seeing they charged for it. and supplied an activation code so will see what they come up with.

I am disappointed with the speed of the 64bit unless it's comparing the Main Concepts codec on the 17plus 32bit  with the one on the new program but it is nearly 3 times slower, I have both program installed to test.

Regards Bryan

I tried to load the 32bit version of MEP2015 but it says I have to wait one month to activate it, I had installed the 17Plus to compare speed and I think  it has counted that as an install even though its a different program but it leaves no time to see if the 32 bit will install the Main Concepts codec, I still have a few days to return the program.

Hi John,

I have tried this every time I have been editing and restarted the computer as it says, every time it goes back to default, but lists the Main Concepts as an option so it knows it's there just not using it, I have now given up, it's to late to change the program to the plus so might go back to using the 17plus just wasted NZ$120, but thanks for all the imputs, might try the 32 bit in a month when it will alow me to activate.

Thanks again Bryan

Hi John

I have just ghosted my system and reinstalled the program and loaded the codec before I did anything else and it has worked, will now ghost it while it's working,

Thanks john and all for you input.
