It is a major update, just started MEP and the update was available, it is big at 839 MB.

Version number is 16.0.4.98 and it has the new icon like VPX except is pale blue.

Installed and just about to test.

From the French forum, the Titles tab has be replaced by Audio, and titles comes as a T button under Effects, I think. Screen shots would help. There are also supposed to be some new effects. I don't have MEP 2017 so I can't help, but I would like to see what will likely show up later on in VPX.

Yes, Audio tab now there, seems to be a link to "suitable" music files which can be purchased and downloaded, price seems to be Euro 8.99 for sets of up to 10 tracks.

Yes, titles tab has gone, now under Effects have Title editing. T button is under programme screen, as per VPX.

Have yet to verify any new effects.

Likewise - however a few observations:

Store - having clicked the Store icon in any pane it is not obvious how to get back where you were, the store buttons toggle on and off, however in some instances you have to click the drop down alongside the store buttons and select All again, even when it shows All in the drop down box.

Icons - ie Effects, templates etc, in the left pane cannot be adjusted in size, they can be difficult to read.

The new icon will appear eventually, probably when Windows decides to do a refresh of the icon cache, here is mine pinned to the Start menu

Favourites - looks like in the Templates tab, you can now 'favourite' your regular templates, transitions, titles etc using the ♥️ shown below.

However I have not yet found a way to display the favourites only which would mean you have less cluttered panes and group all your favourites together by type.

Thanks for the info.

In the French thread, there is the following:

• Heroglyph has disappeared
• Adorage does not work properly
• It seems that the screen layout can be saved, probably like VPX. Maybe someone can confirm if it is just one layout or three as per VPX.

Other than that, it looks like fluff and a blatant attempt by Magix to promote sale of music files directly from the program, just like in MusicMaker. I find it a shame that they would replace an existing tab with Audio which is just a store and not Audio effects or settings for the program. It's a shameless attempt to sell music that cannot be adapted to length and content like SonicFire.

The new patch really screwed things up for me. New chapter markers disappear, an image won't obey the size parameter, and DVDs lock up when burning.

I should have waited before downloading it.
