I am using a Yamaha YPG 235 keyboard to record a midi file. I have it hooked up to my laptop and running thru Music Maker 16. I can record my playing the keyboard fine, but it is a generic keyboard sound. How do i get Music Maker to play back the "Voice" that i have my keyboard set on when recording in MIDI??  Any help would be great

You can't transmit audio through MIDI.  They are two completely different things.

To record the audio from your keyboard, you must connect the stereo audio PHONES/OUTPUT on the keyboard to the stereo, blue Line-IN jack on your computer sound card (assuming you have one).  Otherwise, you need to connect through a USB Audio/MIDI interface.  Obviously, that would also transmit MIDI if desired.

The USB connection on your keyboard transmits MIDI information only.  With it,  you can play the VSTi's (Virtual Studio Technology instrument's) in the Vita MIDI Editor.  If you don't like the default "piano" sound, you need to choose a different software instrument in Vita.
