Migrating from Vegas Movie Studio 17 to Magix Movie Studio 18

I am a long time user of Vegas Movie Studio and currently using version 17.
Magix now encourages me to move to Movie Studio 18 which I understand is a completely different product.

As I have a lot of stuff produced with Vegas I am curious to know about the compatibility between these two
products and what possible difficulties I could meet transitioning to 18.

Movie Studio 18 is basically Magix Movie Edit Pro. A very different programme. There are several threads on this plus links to helpful tutorials.

Currently it cannot properly open Vegas Movie Studio "vf" project files. My understanding is it can import the clips and their trimming but not cropping, FX etc. If you have vf files that you wish to work on just continue using Vegas Movie Studio 17. It is not going to stop working.
