Migrating plugins between versions of Movie Edit

I apologize if this has been asked before but I was wondering if it is possible to use plugins included in previous versions of Magix Movie Edit Pro with more recent versions of the program? For example, would it be possible to use the NewBlue Light Blends plugin included with the MX Premium version with the 2014 Premium version? Thanks!

terrerad,

The answer depends on just how the plugins have installed themselves. I recently bought some of the Pixelan effects for my MEP 2014, and because they get installed in a Magix/Common folder I found that they were also available in older version, in my case back to MEP 17. There were a few differences in the user interface eg whether the plugin had its own named entry on the Effects tab page or was listed under 'Extra effects'. NewBlue Video Essentials shows up on my MEP 2014 list -- I don't remember when it was installed, but it did not come with MEP 2014.

You may be able to copy material from a MX specific folder to a corresponding location under MEP 2014 but success depends AFAIK on whether or not there are associated entries in the Windows registry.

Regards,

Carl

If you have plug-ins already installed like from NewBlueFX or ProDAD, then they should appear automatically in the new software.

If you are reinstalling on a new machine, then unfortunately, you will have to install the older MAGIX version that came with that plug-in as well. It is not possible to install the built-in plug-ins seperately.
